The ARI workshops are FREE workshops that are open to emerging artists, recent graduates and art school students. Registration is now open for the workshops with 30 places per workshop (with 20 places reserved for South Australian practitioners including Helpmann Partner School students).

Artist Run Initiatives offer a platform for artists to take control and direction of the way their work is presented to the public, whilst encouraging artistic freedom, flexibility and innovation. Specially designed for students, emerging artists and recent graduates, this workshop will be a practical account of the why, what, who, where and how of setting up and running an Artist Run Initiative from people who’ve done it.

The internet and ‘do it yourself’ publishing are providing opportunities for artists to create their own publishing outlets and channels. With an aim to support critical dialogue, reviews and discussion on contemporary Australian art - a recent surge of blogs, magazines and publications are bringing the work of emerging and younger artists to a wider public. This workshop will focus on strategies for publication for students, emerging artists and recent graduates.
